Ana-Paula Malagon, soprano
Mexican dazzling soprano Ana Paula Malagón has been praised for her warm, colorful voice and magnetic stage presence.
Future engagements include the ISING and Opera Festival in China, among others.
Recent engagement with success include the Opera Festival of St-Eustache in Canada.
Highlights of past engagements include singing the role of Maria in West Side Story at Berkeley Playhouse and Hillbarn Theater, she covered the role of Nanetta in Falstaff at West Bay Opera, she sang the role of Young Alyce in Glory Denied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Carlitos in Miracle Flight at What's Next Music Festival,Yniold in Pelléas et Mélisande, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, and Lazuli in L’étoile at the University of Montreal.
Ms. Malagón has appeared in recitals with Unlimited Theater, Opera Parallèle, and Taste of Talent in San Francisco. She was the recipient of an Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, was Second prize winner in the Alexander and Buono Competition, she received the Edgar and Done Jones Scholarship, and The George Cedric Ferguson Scholarship.
She holds a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Montreal and a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
