Danny Leclerc, tenor
Native of the Quebec City region, this tenor is distinguished by his vaste repertoire. The richtness and power of his voice allows him to sing works of different styles, ranging from opera to sacred music, French melody and German lieder.
He recently sang the roles of Jean and David in Rabbi/Jesus of Normand Gasnier at FestivalOpera de St-Eustache with success.
He has already sung many roles, including Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) with Opera Immediat, Le Bésilien (La vie Parisienne) Théatre lyrique de la Montérégie, Jacques (Trois jeunes filles ... nues, Moretti) with the troupe Belle Lurette, Frederick Fleet (Titanic, Yeston) at the Opéra-Théâtre de Rimouski, as well as Luigi (Il Tabarro, Puccini), Le Journaliste and Lacouf (Les mamelles de Tiresias, Poulenc) with the Théatre lyrique de Laval. Most recently, he sang Bach's Cantata BWV 142, Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio, Verdi's Requiem, Vigneault's Great Mass, and Mozart's Requiem. We also heard him in the roles of Laerte in Hamlet by Ambroise Thomas, Don José in Carmen with Opéra café-concert and Rodolpho in La Boheme with Opéramore.
He also participated in the Ottawa Music and Beyond Festival for Opera's 400 years concert and at the International Festival des Laurentides. Recently he participated in the Montreal Fringe Festival with Opera Outside the Box and with the Festival d’opéra de Québec.
