Viktorija Miškūnaitė, soprano
Viktorija MIŠKŪNAITĖ is the Lithuanian opera singer and model of the new generation. Young, perfectionist and determined, she is already recognized in her country awarded one of the most prestigious theater and culture awards of the State of Lithuania – THE GOLDEN CROSS OF STAGE 2016 for her Remarkable debuts in the role of Manon Lescaut of the opera "Manon" of Massenet (directed by V. She was named BEST OPERA SINGER 2015 by the Lithuanian National Theater of Opera and Ballet (LNOBT). She is also the recipient of a Letter of Gratitude awarded by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė for her creativity and international accomplishments as a promising young professional opera singer.
Among her next engagements in 2019-20, Viktorija is singing with great success the dramatic role of Puccini's Turandot at the Linius Theater.
In 2018 she sang successfully at the Innsbruck Festival in the title role of Didone in the opera Severio Mercadante Didona Abbandonata while being the soprano star at the Linius Theater where she sings all the main roles.
Her recent engagements in 2017-18 are Violetta (Traviata), Micaela (Carmen), Manon (Massenet), Mimi (Bohème), Elisabeth (Don Carlo), Rosalinda (Fledermaus), Juliette (Capuletti) and her premiere in the title-role of Electra directed by Graham Vick at Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet and the part of soprano soloist in" The Bells "of Rachmaninov with the MittelDeutscher Rundfunk under the direction of Risto Joost at the Leipzig Gewandhaus in May 2018 with great success.
In 2016-17 included her debut as Verdi's "Marchesa del Poggio" at the 43rd Festival della Valle d'Itria in Italy and the role of Juliette in Bellini's opera "I Capuleti è I Montecchi "under the direction of Maestro Sesto Quatrini and her participation at the Academia Internationale Rodolfo Celletti Belcanto (Martina Franca, Italie), in June-July 2017, Mimi's role in Puccini’s La Bohème in August 2016 at the Lithuanian Opera. She performed brillantly the role of Elisabetta in Verdi's Don Carlo in March 2016 under the stage direction of Günter Krämer, and musical direction of Pierre Vallet. She also performed a magnificent Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème (directed by Cristina Muti), and Elisabeth Valois in Verdi 's Opera Don Carlo (Gunter Kramer, LNOBT), as well as Tatiana' Eugenij Onegin of Tchaikovsky at the Lithuanian Opera.
Among her activities was her role debut at the LNOBT at the 2015 opening season premiere where she interpreted the title role in the opera Manon Lescault by Massenet. On the same scene, she was featured in Bizet’s Carmen as Micaela (2014), in the opera La Traviata by Verdi in the role of Violetta Valery (2013) and in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus as Rosalinda (2012).
Ms. Miškūnaitė performed at the New Year’s Eve Gala concert with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, took part in the world premiere of Martynas Bialobžeskis’s The Dream of Shakespeare presented during the Contemporary Music Festival “GAIDA” and interpreted the soprano part in Mozart’s Requiem at the Gala concert of the XI International Tytuvenai Summer Festival in Lithuania.
She entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT) in 2001 to study Performing Arts (Opera Singing). In 2011, she was invited to continue her studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart (Germany). She then completed her postgraduate studies with honours and was awarded a Master of Arts Performing degree (specialization opera singing) in 2012. She participated in multiple singing competitions (4th International Opera Soloists Contest in St. Petersburg, 6th International Leyla Gencer Voice Competition in Istanbul, 31st International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna) and in various master-classes all across Europe.
